Morning Message:
Happy Friday HBOTS, today is June 5th, 2020. Today’s virtual spirit theme is Pajama Day. I hope to see all of you on Zoom in your comfy pajamas at 9:30. Today in phonics we are going to continue practicing finding syllables in words. In science we are going to review all the planets that we have learned about in our solar system. Today’s end of the year activity will ask students to reflect on their year in first grade. Please remember to continue to practice reading everyday for at least 20 minutes. If you would like to keep practicing math please feel free to use Zearn or Khan Academy (this is optional). ***Please remember to check-in with me each morning by 10:30 am. Phonics: Today in phonics we will learn about three and four syllable words. All words can be split into parts called syllables. You can clap out the syllables with your hands, stop them out with your feet, or air punch them out with your arms. Objective: I can segment syllables in words. Learning Goal: I can break a word into its syllables.
First Grade Reflection: Instead of math this week we will take some time to reflect and celebrate the wonderful year we have had together.
Science: Today in science we will be exploring the 8 planets in the solar system Essential Questions: What are the 8 planets in our solar system? Learning goal: I can label the planets in our solar system in order Complete the activity on Seesaw: “Label the Solar System”
